Family Fun at First Steps
Thank you to everyone that attended our fun day. It was lovely to see so many of you, and we really appreciate all of your support, which made the event so successful. We hope the children all enjoyed the mad4animals shows and the different activities and stalls on offer. We are planning ‘stay and play sessions’ in the coming months, where you will be invited to spend some time in your child’s room. This will be an opportunity to speak with the team and meet other parents of your child’s peers. These sessions will be in small groups, on an invite only basis. Please don’t worry if you don’t get an invite this time, as there will be an opportunity for everyone to attend, as we will be holding several of them over the next few months.
At First Steps, we know that raising children is a truly rewarding and incredible job. But it can also raise questions and challenges along the way. We have been building our own online knowledge hub which includes downloadable resources and videos that we hope can guide and help parents with some of the common problems you may be faced with. Many of our staff team hold the highest level of early years degree available and have many years of early years’ experience, enabling them to share their knowledge and expertise. As well as our downloadable guides and videos we have produced a series of narrated stories for you and your children to enjoy, these consist of some of our favourite books we share here at nursery.
Within the knowledge hub, you will find information on different subjects such as potty training, bedtime routines, help with fussy eaters and much more. These downloadable guides give practical advice that you can use at home to help navigate through your child’s early years. You can also find information relevant to First Steps itself, including our room tours, nursery fees and information on the BCP funding. Or knowledge hub is a resource we intend to continually add to, so we are always keen to hear from parents if there is a particular subject they would like us to focus on. Each month in our blog we will be introducing you to a staff member so you can learn a little more about them. This month will be MONIKA. Monika has worked at the nursery for over six years, and both her daughter and son have attended the nursery with her. As a mum of two Monika brings her experience and knowledge into the work place and is always hands on thinking of exciting activities for the children. Monika speaks two languages and is fantastic at supporting our children who have English as an additional language. Monika is based in our preschool room but has worked across all of our age ranges and is always on hand to help with all of the children. On the weekends Monika loves nothing more than a family day out exploring a new park with her two children.
