πŸŽƒ Spooky Fun at First Steps Nursery! πŸŽ‡

As the leaves turn golden and the nights grow longer, we have had two exciting events to celebrate: Halloween and Bonfire Night! At First Steps Nursery, we believe in creating magical moments for our little ones, and these celebrations are the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Halloween Happenings

This year, our Halloween festivities were filled with laughter, creativity, and a touch of spookiness! The children came dressed in their favourite costumes, from friendly ghosts to brave superheroes. We had a fantastic time with:

  • Pumpkin Messy Play: Our children explored the tactile wonders of pumpkins through scooping, squishing, and creating. With vibrant colours and interesting textures, the children were able to develop their sensory skills whilst indulging in imaginative play. Our safe and stimulating environment encourages creativity, teamwork, and laughter, making pumpkin messy play an unforgettable experience.

Spooky Storytime: Our nursery practitioners read fun and not-too-scary Halloween stories that had everyone giggling and gasping in delight.

  • Apple Bobbing: The children had a blast trying to catch apples with their teeth from a tub of water. It was a fun and refreshing challenge!

  • Toilet Roll Mummy Competition: Teams of children wrapped each other up in toilet paper to create the best mummy. It was hilarious and everyone enjoyed the friendly competition!

  • Eat the Doughnut with No Hands: The children tried to eat hanging doughnuts without using their hands. It was a messy but incredibly fun activity that had everyone laughing!

Bonfire Night Bonanza

As we moved into November, we were excited to celebrate Bonfire Night with a bang! Here’s what we did:

  • Firework Crafts: The children created beautiful firework art using paint, glitter, and recycled materials. They even made their very own sparklers!

  • Safety First: We talked about the importance of firework safety in a fun and engaging way, ensuring our little ones understand how to enjoy the festivities safely.
